Exercise and I have a love-hate relationship. I love to exercise when it is comfortable and easy like walking. I can get my 10k steps in and my Fitbit is happy.

I enjoy walking. I can go at my own pace. I can stop and look at the flowers, talk to people, take a pic of the scenery. Walking is my kind of exercise.

Over the last six months, I have decided to really change up my exercise routine. I have added weights, resistance bands, and a weight vest…

Let me tell you the workouts with these things are different. There are times when I am like “Oh hell no, I quit.” Years ago I did HIIT classes and I enjoyed it. Um but now I am a wee bit older and it is a different ball game…

The amount of sweat, the muscles that have awakened ☹.

There are days when I have to give myself a pep talk to get up and going. There are days where cussing is part of my exercise routine.

The good news is that despite all of my gripes I actually enjoy the workouts.

Are these workouts out of my comfort zone? Yep, they are but I sleep better, have more energy and I feel proud when I add a little more weight to the lifting.
