Angry Prayers…

Angry because grief pops up at the strangest times…

Like when I was at CVS in line checking out and I saw one of my mama’s favorite candies, “Easter egg whoppers,” and I got choked up. The cashier was so concerned for me, and I kept telling her, “I am fine,” but I wasn’t able to get the words completely out.

How the heck did seeing those candies make me so sad?

I grabbed 2 boxes of those Easter whoppers and added them to my purchases, and when I got to my car, I texted my sister, and we both agreed that mama would be so upset at us for crying and was probably shouting down from heaven, “Cut all that crying out.”

Angry prayers because our world is so broken… I do not have the capacity to even expand on this right now, but we all know the chaos we are in.

I am so so GRATEFUL that I am not afraid to be 100% honest when I pray. Sometimes those prayers may not include beautiful biblical words, and that is perfectly fine. When I was younger, I was afraid of being 100% honest in my prayers — that was a fear thing.

There is no one way to pray; prayer is NOT one size fits all. Sometimes prayer is one word or many words.
