School Days

New Normal

Photo by Feliphe Schiarolli on Unsplash

Alarm goes off

It is time to get up

A few moments of quiet

Morning prayers

Words of encouragement

Hurry hurry

Get in the car

Holding my breath the whole drive

Praying my kids make it through the day without a phone call to come pick them up

Pull into the school

Stomach in knots

Have a great day

Wave and smile

A quick glimpse as they walk into the school

Heavy sigh

Keep them safe Lord (my quick prayer)

Another heavy sigh

Times have changed

Drop off used to be less stressful

Times have changed

This is our new normal

Quarantines

Contact tracing

Sent home

Isolation

We made it through another week

Whew

Next week, will we get that call

New normal

Go Away

Will our children ever again enjoy each school day

Thank you for reading my work. It is APPRECIATED. Feel free to share if you feel inclined to do so it will help me reach more folks.
