Work Days #3~ Why So Many Meetings

How many work meetings are you having in a week that are truly worth while?

How many work meetings are you having in a week that are a waste of time?

Do you sometimes wonder if leadership is just meeting just to meet; A quick anonymous temperature check survey could let leadership know that these meetings are absolutely annoying (but are surveys truly anonymous). Even so the number of meetings seem to be at an all time high.

So much that is talked about in a meeting truly could be an email. I think meetings make some people feel important or like they have power. I am wondering if those of us who work remotely have more meetings than those working in person.

No matter what it would be awesome and welcomed if leadership would take note that too many meetings with no true meaning or intention are overwhelming and needed to cease.

A Monday meeting to start the week, a Wednesday meeting to check in midweek, and the dreaded Friday meeting when we all know we are counting down to the weekend.

If you are going to have constant meetings can you stick to the agenda and end on time.

One of my pet peeves about meetings is how so many meetings do not respect peoples time. Like if the goal is for me to be productive me sitting in meetings non stop is not going to help increase my productivity now is it?

What are you feelings on the number of meetings you have to participate in each week?
